Duration: 15 June 2008 - 15 March 2009 Online study and research from 15 June to 29 August 2008 and from 5 January 2008 to 15 March 2009, and classroom sessions in Turin, Italy (ITC-ILO) from 1 September 2008 to 19 December 2009. This Master is a joint initiative of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (Management of Development Programme) and the Turin University who have pooled their resources for the design and delivery of this course. It combines essential knowledge of cultural economics and cultural policies with the competences needed to design projects in the cultural field. Case studies and study visits are an integral part of the course, designed to facilitate the application of the learning into practice. The Master, conducted in English, is now in its sixth edition.
Essential requirements for admission are: to hold a first university degree (BA); to be able to submit a viable cultural project idea; to be fluent in the English language.The deadline to submit applications (along with a project proposal) is on 16 May 2008. The Scientific Committee of the Master will assess all nominations and select the most promising 20 candidates. They will receive the confirmation of their participation by 14 June 2008.
A group of sponsors, led by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will provide a limited number of partial scholarships to participants from developing and transition countries. The remaining candidates will be selected from different countries, on self-financing basis and/or sponsorships by their respective national institutions.
